PIckled Corn

Recently, I was thinking about how I do not have braces anymore and how you cannot eat popcorn with braces on. Then I thought about how popcorn is made from a specific type of corn and how much I love popcorn. Unfortunately, I did not have popcorn at home, I just had corn. So, here is a corn pickle in honor of popcorn! The pickle does not taste like popcorn, but I was craving popcorn and since popcorn is made from a type of corn… here is a corn pickle?

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of white vinegar

  • 1/2 cup of water

  • 1 tablespoon of salt

  • 1/8 cup of sugar

  • 1 ear of corn

  • garlic

  • red pepper flakes

Directions:

  • Cut the corn off the cob

  • chop as much garlic as you want

  • Put the garlic and the corn into a jar

  • Put the water, sugar, salt, vinegar, and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes into a saucepan and turn on the heat

  • Mix so the sugar and salt dissolves

  • heat until boiling a little bit

  • turn off heat and let the solution cool

  • Pour the solution over the corn and put the lid on the jar.

  • ENJOY!

Review:

Pretty good. I ate it on a hot dog as relish instead of putting the normal green relish from the bottle. One thing I would change is that I would cook the corn a little bit so that it is more tender and more pleasant to chew.
