Pickling Lemons

Ingredients:

1 mason 16oz jar

Lemons thinly sliced into rings

1/2 cup of water

1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar

3/4 cup of sugar

A teaspoon of salt


Directions:

  1. Thinly slice lemons into rings

  2. Add the lemon to the jar with a teaspoon of sugar

  3. Use a fork to mix and mash the lemon and sugar together

  4. Into a pot, add the water, white vinegar, sugar, and salt

  5. Put the pot on the stove

  6. Heat and stir until all the sugar is dissolved

  7. Once the liquid is boiling and add a cover to the pot for a few minutes

  8. Turn turn off the heat and uncover the pot

  9. Let the liquid cool for a few minutes and pour into the mason jar and close

  10. Refrigerate and try after a few days!


Review:

These pickles tasted like lemons with less tartness. They are sweeter than plain lemons and taste great alongside foods like fish and chicken.
