Pickling Green Beans
Ingredients:
1 mason 16oz jar
Green Beans
1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar
1/2 tablespoon of salt
1/2 tablespoon of sugar
1.5 teaspoons of red pepper flakes
2 cloves of garlic
Thyme
Rosemary
2 teaspoons of black pepper corn
Directions:
Cut the ends off of the green beans
Slice the garlic
Chop some rosemary
Add the green beans, red pepper flakes, garlic, a few sprigs of thyme, rosemary to a jar, and a pinch of salt
Into a pot, add the water, white vinegar, sugar, black peppercorn and salt
Put the pot on the stove
Heat and stir until the sugar and salt dissolved
Heat until boiling for a couple minutes
Turn turn off the heat
Let the liquid cool for a few minutes and pour into the mason jar and close
Refrigerate and try after a few days or weeks!
Review: These pickles were tasty and crunchy. I sliced them up and put them in a salad and they added a nice crunch to my salad. I used the brine as a dressing for my salad and also added some olive oil.
